Generali Historical Archive News

The Generali Historical Archive will be among this year’s protagonists of the 3rd edition of Una Rete in viaggio. Storie, idee, progetti (“A Travelling Network: Stories, Ideas, Projects”), the program of appointments promoted by Rete Fotografia that sees members of Rete Fotografia in dialogue with each other and with other institutions to discover new avenues for collaboration and areas of interaction.

The are three meetings scheduled in the event, that will be held from March 18 to May 9 in Bologna, Bergamo and Turin, in presence and in streaming, on the theme of photography’s relationship with other important disciplines, starting with cinema with which it has often shared content and unusual points of view, or with architecture, both in terms of testimony and the design and construction of the image, and finally with music in an almost heretical attempt to go beyond the subject represented.

The Historical Archive has been invited to participate in the second meeting to be held in Bergamo’s Museo delle Storie on April 23 on the topic of photography’s relationship with architecture. Also participating as speakers will be Fondazione Dalmine, Museo delle Storie di Bergamo and Fondazione Alinari.

In particular, the Historical Archive’s intervention will focus on the most iconic historic buildings owned, which have marked Generali’s constant commitment to real estate investment over the years (not only places of business and representation but also investments intended for residential construction): interventions that contributed to the modernization, development, redevelopment or simply the beautification of various urban areas, making use of the most advanced technological solutions of the time adapted to modern needs, and employing highly skilled local workers, thus also contributing to the country’s economy.

Retefotografia, of which the Historical Archive is a member, engaged since its founding in 2011 in the promotion of photography culture to both a specialized audience and lovers of the subject.
