The European Heritage Days will see the participation of the Generali Historical Archive on September 24, 2002. The EHD is among Europe’s most attended cultural events and this year’s debate in Italy will offer a deep dive on the topic of sustainable heritage as a legacy for the future, as a further step along the path of the pan-European Sustainable Heritage program.

The Generali Historical Archive has welcomed the invitation of the Archival Superintendency of Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Trieste State Archive to take part in this EHD event dedicated to the topic of supporting the sustainable archives.

The event will be open to public attendance, the program including presentations by the Archive of the Municipality of Trieste, the Protocol Office of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and the Generali Historical Archive, to discuss ongoing projects for the promotion of archives as indispensable tools for the preservation of our heritage at present and in the future. The event provides the suitable opportunity to reflect on the role of archives, i.e. cultural assets unlike any other, and their role in sustainability as envisaged in target 11.4 Strengthen efforts to protect and safeguard the world’s cultural and natural heritage of the UN Sustainable Development Goals with its 17 target framework (Agenda 2030) and the Faro Convention action plan.
